The President visited the Mahatma Gandhi Institute in Mauritius on Tuesday, on the anniversary of the historic Dandi March, to pay homage to the Father of the Nation. Murmu, who attended the National Day celebrations of Mauritius as the chief guest, also took a metro ride to Mahatma Gandhi Metro Station on Tuesday. During this time she visited the Mangal Mahadev Temple at Ganga Talav (Grand Basin), a crater lake located in the Savannah district of Mauritius. Here he worshiped Shivalinga.

Talking about the specialty of this temple, there is a statue of Lord Shiva about 33 meters (108 feet) high. Lord Shiva is standing with his trident. What makes the statue special is that this statue is a replica of the Shiva statue located in Sursagar Lake in Vadodara, Gujarat in India. It is also the tallest statue in Mauritius.
